The couple arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport from San Francisco in the United States before six in the morning of Sunday. "Marami kame dapat tapusin bago kame bumalik (sa Amerika). Nung umalis kame nung 2005, marami kaming hindi naayos," said Dingdong, who rose to fame as a pop singer during the late 1980s and early 1990s. The singer and former Quezon City politician also said that he and his wife are willing to talk things over with Ruffa Mae, who was his former girlfriend. Ruffa Mae and Jessa exchanged accusations early this year over the media, after the former's tell-all interview with an entertainment magazine early this year. In the interview, Ruffa Mae claimed that years ago, when she and Jessa were still friends, the latter "stole" Dingdong from her. Upon reading the interview, Jessa angrily called up several media outlets denying Ruffa Mae's statements. Jessa said that Ruffa Mae's statements about Dingdong and her were outright lies. Not surprisingly, Dingdong supports his wife in the issue. "Meron syang mga binatong accusations, siguro karapatan din naman mag-react. Kailangan liwanagin kung ano nangyari 8 years ago. My family was very very much affected because they know the truth, I don't think she realizes yung repercussions ng ginawa nya... my family knows the truth, I know the truth. "Isang bagay na we chose to forget and we chose to move on, binuhay nya muli... definitely isa yan sa mga gusto naming isara," said Dingdong. Jessa added that she feels compelled to speak out and defend herself against Ruffa Mae's accusations, in order to protect herself and her 5-year-old daughter Jayda. In a previous phone interview on ABS-CBN's "The Buzz", Jessa told the hosts that she wouldn't want her daughter to grow up thinking that she really "stole" her father from anybody. Dingdong said that while he isn't angry at Ruffa Mae over the issue, he couldn't help but feel irritated over how her false statements have been spreading, especially through the media and online. "Hindi galit eh, medyo naiinis, sa showbiz everything is about perception eh. Kami tahimik na ang buhay namin sa Amerika... nabuksan ulit, napasok ulit, here we go again. Nakikita naman statements nya sa TV, sa internet, masakit. Sa akin lang, lumabas lang katotohanan. After that, hopefully we can all move on. Sino ba naman may gustong may kaaway?" he said. Fortunately, not everything about their return to the Philippines is irritating. Dingdong said that he's turning 40 soon and he'd like to celebrate it here with a thanksgiving concert. 'I just feel so blessed. Gusto ko sa 40th birthday ko, I want to give back especially to the people na nagsuporta sa amin all these years. I'm planning to do a concert because that's what I love to do--perform. I won't ask to be paid because I love to do it. Let's just all give it to charity na lang, just to say thank you because not everybody is given this kind of life," he said. Jessa also said that she's still hoping for some rest and relaxation in the Philippines. "After concert namin ni Dingdong sa Northern California, I had severe inflammation sa throat. Sana nga sa pag-uwi namin, makapagpahinga talaga nang husto."
