Actress and 2005 Miss International Precious Lara Quigaman confessed that she was saddened by Binibining Pilipinas founder and former title holder Stella Marquez-Araneta’s purported cold treatment of her.

Earlier reports said the reason for the cold treatment was because Quigaman established another beauty pageant. Quigaman spearheaded the Turismo Pilipina in 2008 along with fellow beauty queens Karen Loren Ostrea and Denille Lou Valmonte.

Quigaman and other former title holders were banned from attending the Binibining Pilipinas coronation night last March 7 at the Araneta Coliseum.

“May galit daw ang Binibini sa akin at sa ibang beauty queen friends, so siyempre unang-una malungkot kasi wala naman kaming ginawang masama. Hindi naman namin kinakalaban ang Binibining Pilipinas. It’s a different pageant from Binibining Pilipinas so hindi namin maintindihan kung ano ‘yong reason kung bakit sila magagalit sa’min,” the actress said.

“Nagtatampo talaga ‘ko sa kanila pero ngayon hindi na. Noong una lang nalaman ko kasi during Binibining Pilipinas this year, nagkaroon ng parang tribute na video na binigyan nila ng mga trophy. Ako wala. Ako lang ‘yong isang wala dun sa international winners,” she explained.
