Arnel Pineda, Lani Misalucha's US show a success despite recession |

 A week after his American rock band “Journey” performed at the Superbowl pre-show event in Tampa Bay, Florida, Arnel Pineda has again wowed thousands of his fans in the United States, this time with fellow Filipino performer Lani Misalucha.
In Chicago, 2,000 people came to watch Pineda and Misalucha during their concert at Gateway Theatre last Friday.
The crowd was all praises for the two world-class performers.

 Modeling agencies are going mainstream showbiz for the sake of the boys of Survivor Philippines.
Magkasunod ang naging presscon para sa dalawang castaways ng unang season ng Survivor Philippines. Una ay para sa Pinoy Sole Survivor na si JC Tiuseco at sumunod naman ang para kay John Lopez. Ang nagpatawag ng mga presscon ay ang Mercator Agency ni Jonas Gaffud para kay JC at ang Raven Models ni Raoul Ramirez para naman kay John. Malaking pangalan sa modeling at beauty pageants ang Mercator. Nasa kanila sina JC; ang international male models na sina Akihiro Sato, Hideo Muracka, at Fabio Ide; ang Star Magic boys na sina Victor Basa at Jubail Andres; ang Pinoy supermodel sa Asian circuit na si Rocky Salumbides; ang dating taga-Star Magic na napapanood ngayon sa Ang Babaeng Hinugot Sa Aking Tadyang na si Boom Labrusca; ang semi-retired model turned Pinoy Big Brother housemate turned steward na si Bruce Quebral; pati na ang ex-boyfriend ni Marian Rivera na si Ervic Vijandre. |

Ipinakilala na 24 na kandidata sa 2009 Binibining Pilipinas Beauty Pageant. At kabilang sa mga kalahok ang Kapuso artist na si Rich Asuncion.
Kabilang si Rich sa mga alumnae ng talent search ng Kapuso Network na StarStruck. Ginamit ni Rich ang tunay niyang pangalan sa Bb. Pilipinas na Richell Angalot.
“I truly believe in my self. Hindi ako pumunta rito na bara-bara lang. I prepared for this, gumagawa ako ng paraan para maging okey ako sa competition," pahayag ni Rich sa Chika Minute portion ng GMA news 24 Oras nitong Biyernes.

 Despite the success of all her teleseryes, from “Kay Tagal Kang Hinintay” to “I Love Betty La Fea,” Bea Alonzo said she still needs to learn a lot in the business.
Alonzo, who has been dubbed as the new queen of Philippine primetime television, said her achievements are still nothing compared to Claudine Barretto and Judy Ann Santos.
"Alam nyo po, ang taas ng respeto ko sa mga taong iyon. Tingin ko, ang dami nilang pinagdaanan bago nila marating 'yong tuktok na 'yon. Feeling ko, ang dami ko pang dapat kainin na bigas, ang dami ko pang dapat pagdaanan," Alonzo said.

 When Carlene Aguilar was offered to be the cover girl of FHM, her first reaction was, “Should I say yes?”
Friends egged her on, “You should, so that Dennis (Trillo, Carlene’s ex and father of her son Calix) could see clearly what he has lost.”
Hmmmm, why not?
“But that was not really the reason why I accepted the FHM offer,” Carlene told Funfare. She’s the second Bb. Pilipinas (for World) to grace the cover of a sizzling men’s magazine; the first was 1999 Bb. Pilipinas-Universe Miriam Quiambao who sent eyebrows soaring when she bared considerable flesh for Playboy last year.
