"Miss Universe 2008" airs live via satellite on ABS-CBN

Beauty pageant aficionados will be able to watch this year’s "Miss Universe" pageant live via satellite from Nha Trang, Khanh Hoa, Vietnam on Monday (July 14), 9:30 AM on ABS-CBN, with a primetime telecast on Tuesday (July 15), 7:30 PM on Studio 23.

The Philippines' own Jennifer Barrientos will compete against 80 of the most beautiful women from around the world for the world’s most coveted beauty title in a rigorous competition judged mainly in three categories,  swimsuit, evening gown and interview.

Host of the hit summer show, "America’s Got Talent," Jerry Springer and former member of phenomenal girl group Spice Girls, Melanie Brown, will be hosting this year’s event. Reigning Miss Universe Riyo Mori from Japan, who won in Mexico City last year, has traveled across the globe as an advocate for HIV/AIDS education, research and legislation.

The "Miss Universe" show is an internationally viewed event with distribution in more than 170 countries.

Tune in to ABS-CBN on Monday (July 14) as early as 8:30 am for the Miss Universe pre-pageant special on "Boy and Kris."
