In Chicago, 2,000 people came to watch Pineda and Misalucha during their concert at Gateway Theatre last Friday. The crowd was all praises for the two world-class performers. “Very good, excellent, bravo, bravo silang dalawa!” said fan Babes Rarang. Amid the current economic crisis in the US, Estrelle Duquilla, one of the producers, was ecstatic that people still bought tickets just to see Pineda and Misalucha perform live. Another producer, Danny Tinimbang said: "Ang unang nabili sa aming mga ticket ay ‘yong pinakamahal. And this is the first time it happens na unang naubos sa akin yung mahal na ticket." The producers said the Chicago show was a big success despite the recession. For John Gacoscos, a fan from Michigan, said he was willing to spend his hard-earned money just to watch his two idols. "Kahit na mahirap ang economy, hindi naman gaanong nahihirapan ‘yong mga Filipino kasi mga nurses naman kami… may trabaho kami, kahit may crisis may trabaho kami,” he said. The two singers, meanwhile, were thankful for the support of their fans. "We just can't thank you enough. Because of you guys, we also continue to, of course, to live and to eat, you know. Without you, we wouldn't be here definitely," Misalucha said. Pineda, on the other hand, said: "I will do my best to keep on rocking with the ‘Journey.’ I hope you will still support me, as one of your kababayans, one of your kind.” Meanwhile, after their show together, Misalucha would go back to Las Vegas for her other commitments while Pineda is busy preparing for Journey’s Asian tour.
