Angel Locsin, one of the hottest actresses in the country, was thankful for being chosen as the hottest billboard poser for 2009. She has been named the “hottest billboard” poser for the year at the Style Bible Awards 2009 organized by entertainment and style Web site Stylebible.ph.

Locsin was proclaimed the winner in the “battle of the billboards” category, besting other celebrity contenders including Melissa Ricks, Kristine Hermosa, Anne Curtis, Gretchen Barretto, Carmina Villaroel, and Lucy Torres-Gomez. Decked along Edsa, Locsin’s breathtaking billboards won after garnering almost five million votes from Stylebible.ph readers.

“Proud naman ako siyempre dahil pinaghirapan namin ‘yon… and nagpapasalamat ako dahil na-a-appreciate ‘yong mga pinaggagagawa namin,” she said.

When informed that her billboard, wherein she was photographed wearing a white swimsuit, was the cause of heavy traffic along Edsa, the actress quipped:  “Traffic lang po talaga. Wag na po nating sisihin ako.”

Locsin’s rumored off-screen sweetheart, actor Luis Manzano took, pride in her triumph.

“It was a very, very sexy billboard. At kataka-taka bang nanalo siya? I think it’s very obvious kung bakit siya ang tinanghal at nanalo. ” he mused.

Manzano said Saturday on “Entertainment Live” that he prefers the billboard where Locsin was deeply clad compared to her other sultry billboards.

“Actually, ang opinyon ko, mas nagagandahan pa ako doon sa north bound compared doon sa south bound, ‘yong naka-green siya,” he commented.
