Actress Gretchen Barretto has kept mum on rumors that she and business tycoon Tony Boy Cojuangco have broken up.

Earlier reports said that Barretto did not answer Boy Abunda’s question on the The Buzz last Sunday whether Cojuangco already proposed marriage to her.

Barretto also guested on “Ruffa and Ai” and only gave a brief and meaningful comment on her “groom to be”.

“Right now I’m not. Today, if you ask me today, hindi na ‘ko ready. Last week ready ako. Ngayon hindi na,” the actress said blatantly.

“Pero talaga right now, wala talaga akong “groom to be” na naman,” she added.

Her statements aroused issues in the papers saying that the two have already gone separate ways.

In a report from “SNN: Showbiz News Ngayon,” Barretto’s comments about the break up issue were still vague.

“May kasabihan nga di ba na parang hangga’t andoon ka na sa simbahan at hanggang nag “I do”, hindi mo malalaman, di ba?” she said.

She said that her idea of her “groom to be” has nothing to do with her rumored breakup with Cojuangco.

She said that the only person who can pop the legendary question, “Will you marry me?” will only come from a single man.

“Eh kung single sila eh di siyempre capable di ba? Anyone single yata is capable. Kung may asawa siyempre hindi nila puwedeng tanungin ‘yon di ba?” Barretto said.
