Are wedding bells in the works for ABS-CBN veteran broadcaster Korina Sanchez and beau Sen. Manuel "Mar" Roxas II?

Amid a flurry of reports that Roxas had finally proposed, Sanchez clarified that there are no plans yet for a wedding.

Speculations of an unannounced engagement between the couple were fueled when Sanchez was spotted wearing a diamond ring.

However, when asked whether the ring was a sign of a forthcoming wedding, she coyly answered: "Bakit masama bang magsuot ng singsing?"

A source close to the couple also said it was possible that the pair would be wed in June, which Sanchez denied. "Ayokong maging June bride dahil tag-ulan," she said, laughing.

Aside from the ring, reports said Roxas has been bringing Sanchez along with him to numerous family engagements, including last April 15 when the Roxas clan gathered to honor the 61st death anniversary of President Manuel Roxas.

However, Roxas denied that Sanchez's invitation to the intimate affair spells wedding bells.

"Bakit naman hindi kasama siya sa pamilya namin at lahat naman kami ay taun-taon nagbibigay galang sa death anniversary ng aking lolo?" Roxas said.

Recently, Sanchez was also spotted at a family reunion with the Aranetas, comprising of Roxas's relatives on his mother's side.

"Kilala naman ni Koring yung pamilya ko. Close naman sila at nung nagkaroon kami ng reunion din sa Negros ay sinama ko siya para mas makilala niya pa ang ibang miyembro ng pamilya ko," the senator said.

Roxas's campaign strategist admitted that should Sanchez and Roxas decide to take their high-profile relationship to the next level, this would boost Roxas's campaign for presidency in 2010.

For now, the source said the couple are busy with their jobs, with Sanchez as the Chief Correspondent of ABS-CBN's News and Current Affairs.

Although hard-pressed to confirm future wedding plans, the couple stubbornly kept mum. "Wala pa, abangan niyo nalang. Kayo ang unang makakaalam," Sanchez said.
