MANILA - Actress Ruffa Gutierrez on Sunday confirmed that she left her parents’ home in Makati City after a heated argument with her mother, talent manager Annabelle Rama.

Ruffa declined to give details about the fight, maintaining that she wants to keep her family problems private.

“Ayoko nang mag-expound kung anong mga problema namin. Sana pagbigyan niyo kami na we can solve this on our own at huwag na sa harapan ng publiko,” she said on "The Buzz."

The heated argument between mother and daughter occurred on Saturday and had forced Ruffa, with her children in tow, to leave their home in Dasmariñas Village.

The actress, however, maintained that, contrary to reports, she was not thrown out of the house. Her dad, actor Eddie Gutierrez, even escorted them out, the 34-year-old actress said.

“Nagpalamig na lang muna kami kasi siyempre medyo mainit ang sitwasyon. Nag-palamig muna ako ng ulo,” she said, adding:

“I’m of age also to move in to my own house. And iyon naman talaga ang usapan namin, before I moved to the main house, na I just really want to save money para makapag-bukod ako kasi mahal siyempreng mag-rent. So now, I’m trying to do that.”
Ruffa and her two children – Lorin and Venice – are staying in an undisclosed place and that the three “are okay.”

Speculation is swirling that the cause of the dispute is Ruffa’s alleged involvement with a younger guy. The identity of the guy has not been established but the actress was romantically linked to 25-year-old John Lloyd Cruz.

Ruffa was rumored to be the reason behind the alleged break-up of Cruz and his non-celebrity girlfriend, stylist Liz Uy. In their separate interviews, however, both Ruffa and Cruz denied the rumor.

Also, the young actor has yet to confirm the reported break-up.

On Sunday the actress maintained that the fight is just between her and her mother. She also apologized to the people who are being dragged into the controversy.

“Huwag na nating gawing national issue. Marami pang pwedeng pag-usapan, problemang pamilya lang to.”

In spite of their differences, Ruffa professed her love and respect for her mom.

“In the next couple of days, I’m sure mag-uusap din kami ni Mommy and people are gonna try to make us talk at ayusin ang mga problema namin,” she said.

In May, Ruffa and Rama also had a misunderstanding. The two only reconciled after actor Richard Gutierrez, Ruffa’s younger brother, figured in an accident.
