MANILA – Actress and television host Kris Aquino has vowed to devote more time with her two children – Joshua and Baby James.

“The Buzz” host said her mother, former president Corazon "Cory" Aquino, would want her and her siblings to spend more time with their respective families.

“Binilin ng mom to give time to my kids more than anything else,” Kris, who is married to cager James Yap, told reporters.

Kris and her three female siblings - Ballsy, Viel, and Pinky - commemorated the ninth day of Cory’s death by praying the rosary in front of their mom’s tomb at the Manila Memorial Park in Parañaque Sunday afternoon. Their male sibling, Noynoy, was not around Sunday. Kris led the recital of the rosary.  Before leaving the cemetery, the siblings gave a short message of gratitude to the people who continued to visit the late former president.

Life goes on for the Aquino siblings even if this will mean moving on without their mother. But they believe that this is exactly what their mother would want them to do - to remain strong amid the difficulties.

Once a reluctant housewife, Cory was known as an icon of Philippine democracy after the EDSA "People Power" revolution that removed the Marcos dictatorship and restored democracy in the Southeast Asian archipelago in 1986.

Cory served as the nation's president until 1992 when she gave way to her successor, President Fidel Ramos. Even in retirement, she remained in the public eye and continued to speak out on political issues.

She died after more than one year of fighting colon cancer.
