Kris says Mother’s Day with Cory more meaningful than ever

Actress and game show host Kris Aquino dedicated her special episode of "Deal or No Deal – Around the World" to her mother, former president Corazon Aquino.

"Nakakatuwa kasi she was so proud…kasi gusto ko talaga na more than anyone iyong mom ko ang na-excite na 'oy lalabas ka on an American network…," Kris said in interview inside ABS-CBN’s compound.

Kris said her mom was very proud of the DOND special episode that was taped here in Manila last April 24 and was aired in the US last May 5. "I think that is the best thing. This week kasi katatapos lang ng chemo. Hirap na naman and all pero siya ang nae-excite dahil alam ko, in the midst of all hirap ng pinagdadaanan, mayroon mga way o pangitain na nagganap. Iyon ang sinabi ng mom ko, and as mom, talaga napakaligaya niya," Kris beamed.

"Iyon ang sinabi ng mom ko na kaya ng anak niyang makipagsabayan sa mga Americano kasi number one show nila iyon sa primetime pa," Kris added.

"DOND - Around the World" was aired on NBC in the United States.

The episode was a glorious moment for the country as millions of American audiences tuned in to see how their hit game show is played the Kapamilya way.

The Philippines is one of the three countries chosen to be part of the show's world tour.

Kris also said that ABS-CBN has acquired the rights to air the episode here in the country.

Mother’s day

Kris is going all out to celebrate Mother's Day with the former president.

"Nagpa-cater ako…combination ng Italian at Asian basically that’s about it. Iyong celebration sa bahay.

Last March 24, Monday Kris and her brother Senator Benigno Aquino III revealed that their mother has been diagnosed with colon cancer.

The former president was last seen in public last April 19 during the first birthday celebration of her grandchild by Kris, James Yap, Jr.

"Ngayon umabot sya sa mother’s day… so next iyong birthday ni Josh sana tuloy tuloy naman," Kris said.

Kris had this message for her mom: "Well like I told her na, the whole world can love you or hate you pero... ang pinaka important emotion ay iyong ma-feel mo na your mom love and appreciates you... At ngayon ko nae-express with my mom. Iyon ang magandang nangyayari… nae-express na namin kung gaano namin ka love ang isa’t isa," Kris added.

Kris who is also a mother two sons, Joshua (by actor Philip Salvador) and James Yap Jr., said that she owes everything to her mother.

"I think ang masasabi ko, thank you. I wont be who I am kung hindi ako nagkaroon ng nanay na kasing tindi ng nanay ko," Kris said.
