Young actor Jiro Manio denies fathering child

{mosimage}Award-winning young actor Jiro Manio denied reports that he got a non-showbiz teen pregnant.

In an interview with abs-cbnNEWS.com, Manio said that malicious rumors that he is soon to be a young father have no basis.

“Ay naku! Masyado pa po akong bata para diyan kasi medyo po alam niyo naman iyong mga ganitong edad iyon ang sinasabi nila  na mainit sa babae... So, para sa akin hindi ko na lang po pinapansin so okay lang…pero hindi po totoo,” Manio said. Manio said he is busy with work and focusing on his studies.

He said he is graduating from 4th year high school and is planning to take an HRM course majoring in culinary studies at the College of St. Benilde.

Manio said that as a loyal boyfriend to his non-showbiz sweetheart he is also doing his best to avoid temptation from other girls.

He said that he is happy with his romantic affair and added that his relationship with his girlfriend is purely platonic.

Manio’s latest project, Fresh from doing digital film “Tambolista (Drumbeat)” under Cinema One, Manio will be busy again with his latest film “Ang Tanging Ina Niyong Lahat” with Comedy Concert Queen Ai-ai delas Alas.

In this movie Manio will portray the character of Shammy, the ninth child of the comedy actress.

The film is the sequel of delas Alas’ film “Ang Tanging Ina” directed by Wenn Deramas.

“Masaya po kasi talagang para sa akin box office na naman ito mas lalo ngayon na grabe ang ginagawa namin talagang pinaghihirapan namin para mas lalong gumanda,” Manio said.

Though he considers the upcoming film as a reunion project with his other co-stars from “Ang Tanging Ina,” Manio confirmed that this time actor Marvin Agustin and Heart Evangelista are not part of the film.

Evangelista and Agustin were former stars of ABS-CBN who moved to GMA-7.

Manio who turned 16 last May is the youngest multi-awarded actor of his generation.

In 2004, he won two awards, Best Actor at Gaward Urian and Best Child Actor at Famas for the movie “Magnifico.”

Manio is a member of ABS-CBN’s Star Magic.
