Gabby promotes debut album and enjoys Iisa Pa Lamang

Comebacking actor Gabby Concepcion who is now part of ABS-CBN's drama series "IIsa Pa Lamang" is also busy promoting his self-titled debut album.

In an interview with ABS-CBN's morning show "Umagang Kay Ganda," Concepcion shared that he has long wanted to be a singer. "1980s pa lang ay frustation ko na ang kumanta, kaya noong nasa Amerika ako ay pinag-aralan kong kumanta sa banyo," the actor joked.

He said that for the 13 years that he was in the US he kept on practising and thinking of songs that he could record for his fans here in the country. He said that he personally handpicked the songs included in his album. He added that there was one original composition in his album entitled "Ako Pa Ba?" that was written for his fans and supporters.

"Noong nasa Amerika ako tinatanong ko kung ako pa ba ang iniisip ng mga tao sa Pilipinas. So pag-uwi ko ng Pilipinas, ako pa ba?" the actor said.

Aside from his album, Concepcion will be having his first solo concert dubbed as "Gabby Concepcion On A Different Note" on Friday, August 15th at the Music Museum in Greenhills, San Juan.

"For the first time may concert ako. Nagugulat din ako at madami ang bumibili ng ticket," Concepcion added.

Special guests for his concert are Claudine Barretto, Pops Fernandez, Ai-Ai delas Alas, Iya Villania, Maja Salvador and Lovey Poe.

In "Iisa Pa Lamang", Concepcion also shared how happy he is to be part of "Iisa Pa Lamang" with other lead stars Claudine Barretto and Diether Ocampo.

"Hindi ko aakalain na gagawa ako ng television series, ang pagbalik ko dito ay (para sa) father ko, number two 'yung pelikula ko ngayon nagiging busy na ako sa TV parang nage-enjoy na ako sa TV," the actor said.

Concepcion who is busy with his series, will soon be doing films.
