Echo joins 'Betty's' world

Young Actor Jericho Rosales is joining John Lloyd Cruz and Bea Alonzo on ABS-CBN's hit television series "I Love Betty La Fea."

In an interview with abs.cbnNEWS.com, Rosales said he is excited and thrilled to be part of the popular TV series given that he is an avid fan of the program.

He said joining “I Love Betty La Fea” gave him an opportunity to play a “light character,” a departure from his usual serious roles.

“Na-excite ako talaga. [And] for the first quarter ng 2009, I'm gonna do something and that's a blessing for me. It's a good show. A lot of people love 'I Love Betty La Fea,' hindi ba?" he said.

Rosales last starred in TV series "Kahit Isang Saglit" with Malaysian actress Carmen Soo. The series wrapped up last year.

The actor also shared that he has to be physically fit so that he could convincingly play the character of Aldo, who is a surfer and a musician.

"I have to be fit for the role kasi lagi siyang nagsi-surf, lagi siyang lumalangoy, lagi siyang nasa dagat,” he said.

Rosales added that he is excited to be working again with Alonzo, who was her leading lady in the movie "Pacquiao."

On Cruz, meanwhile, Rosales said he feels privileged to be with working with one of the country’s most bankable leading men.

He said he hopes that the Cruz-Alonzo fans would accept his character in the series.

On Heart

Meanwhile, Rosales said it is not true that his former girlfriend, actress Heart Evangelista, went to his house to patch things up between them after his controversial interview on “The Buzz” late last year.

The former sweethearts broke up in first quarter of 2008 allegedly because Rosales had fooled around, an accusation denied by the young actor.

Late last year, when Rosales was put in a hot seat during “The Buzz’s Tough 10 Questions,” he admitted that, among his former girlfriends, he would try to win Evangelista’s heart again if he could turn back time and correct his mistakes.

After the interview, Evangelista had purportedly gone to Rosales’s place but this was denied by the actress. Rosales, for his part, also denied that rumor.

What Rosales admitted though was that, after the break-up, he and Evangelista had once bumped into each other.

"I didn't see her family, siya lang, sabi lang, 'hi, hello,' then she left," he said.

There were thousands of questions in his mind that time, according to Rosales as he recalled the meeting.

Rosales said Evangelista would always have a special place in his heart.

The actor, who is being romantically linked to singer-actress Karylle, said he is currently single and not courting anybody because he is focusing on his career.
