'You Changed My Life' seen to earn P18M on 1st dayStar Cinema’s “You Changed My Life” is projected to earn at least P10 million on its first day of screening.

Although the official figures are yet to be released, Star Cinema Booking & Distribution, which handles the local and international distribution of films, was optimistic that the movie would earn P18 million for its February 25 screening alone.

Under the direction of well-acclaimed director Cathy Garcia-Molina, You Changed My Life, a romantic-comedy film, is a sequel to another box-office hit “A Very Special Love.”

A Very Special Love has earned P180 million and was shown in theaters for more than a month.

Due to its huge success, John Lloyd Cruz and Sarah Geronimo, the films’ lead stars, have been dubbed the “Box Office King and Queen.”

On Tuesday night a huge crowd of fans and supporters flocked to SM Megamall’s Cinema 9 and 10 to watch the premiere of You Changed My Life.  

Separate ways

Meanwhile, Cruz and Geronimo admitted that they would miss each other after the showing of their second film together.

“Oo naman [malungkot] kasi siyempre walang kasiguruhan kung magkaka-trabaho  pa kami ulit. Kung mangyari man ‘yon matatagalan,” Geronimo said.

The singer-actress also said that because of their work it would be difficult for both of them to see each other again. Geronimo, for instance, is scheduled to do a series of shows in the United States.

Cruz echoed: “Matagal kasi kaming hindi nagkita bago ang araw na ito at matagal kaming hindi magkikita.”

Cruz was also all praises for his leading lady.

“She has this endearing quality to make people feel na very special, parang magic. Pag pasok niya ng kwarto ‘yong mga tao ay nahahawa sa aura niya. At the same time, napaka-innocent ng quality na meron siya,” Cruz said.

Geronimo, for her part, said that she would always treasure the good memories of working with Cruz, who  she now considers as one of her good friends.
