MANILA, Philippines – The remains of actor Cesar Montano’s son, Christian Angelo Manhilot, were cremated Sunday morning in Quezon City.

Angelo’s body was cremated at 11 a.m. at Arlington Memorial Chapel in QC, reports said.

In his brief message to the media, Montano, Cesar Manhilot in real life, thanked the public for their prayers and for respecting his family's privacy during their grief.

“Maraming salamat sa pagdasal at pag-unawa sa amin. Maraming salamat mula sa Manhilot, ” he said.

The actor has requested the public to respect their privacy as he refused to talk more about his son's death.

Angelo, 23, committed suicide on March 26 allegedly spurned by "love problems." Angelo was Montano's son by a first wife who passed away some years ago.

Reports said he shot himself in the head with a .45 pistol inside their home along Yakal Street, Tivoli Royale subdivision in Barangay Batasan Hills around 6 a.m.

Radio DZMM reported that Angelo was talking to someone on the phone before shooting himself.

Montano was in his home province, Bohol, with wife actress Sunshine Cruz when the incident occurred.
