Singer-actress Karylle is thrilled by her first television drama series on ABS-CBN, "Komiks Presents Mars Ravelo's Maruja," with actress Kristine Hermosa as the lead star.

"I did 'I Love Betty La Fea' pero guesting lang. So, ito na talaga 'yong first ko na gagawin ko na major so we've been working on this for a couple of months na," Karylle said.

According to the singer, she will portray the role of Maruja’s (Hermosa) half sister.

"Parang I will be her protector kasi naglalakad siya ng tulog," she added.

The eldest daughter of Divine Diva Zsa Zsa Padilla said she enjoys taping for the series especially because everybody in the set is great to work with. She added that the taping schedules are not taxing.

She also enjoys the food being served to them during tapings.

When asked about her working relationship with Hermosa, Karylle shared: "Magkasama kami sa room, sa standby area namin. Minsan nagshi-share kami ng music or kwentuhan. Friend ko siya. She's very welcoming. Lagi kong sinasabi na I always want to work with her... ito na nga 'yong chance," Karylle said.

Karylle was once romantically linked to actor Jericho Rosales, the former on-screen partner of Hermosa.

Aside from "Maruja," which will air on May 2, Karylle is also a mainstay of ABS-CBN's musical variety show "ASAP '09."
