David Archuleta watches Charice show at gay club

MANILA, Philippines – Did Filipino singing sensation Charice get “American Idol” finalist David Archuleta in trouble?

The online community is now abuzz over Archuleta’s night out at Club 57, a popular gay club in New York City in the United States, on April 17. Gay rumors have hounded the American singer since he was spotted at the club.

 

In his Twitter page,  Archuleta said he was at Club 57 to show his support for his Filipino friend, Charice.

The 17-year-old Filipino songstress performed “Pyramid,” her current hit single, and “I Will Survive,” but Archuleta did not sing, confirmed Charice’s mom, Raquel.

For Archuleta's part, he merely laughed off the gay rumors.

No more showbiz career for Baby James, says mom

MANILA, Philippines – There will be no more showbiz career for toddler James “Baby James” Yap Jr., at least for now.

Television host-actress Kris Aquino announced on “The Buzz” Sunday that she and her husband, cager James Yap, have decided to cut short their youngest son’s budding career in show business.

 

“My mom always told me that you have to allow your child to be a child. Nag- shoot na siya ng eksena sa ‘Kung Tayo’y Magkakalayo’ pero napag-desisyunan na naming mag-asawa na kapag sa pasukan sa August at nagsimula na siya, commercial [na lang] muna,” said Aquino, who is the daughter of the late former president Corazon Aquino.

To her son, who is turning 3 on Monday, Aquino said: “At mananahimik muna ang life mo until matapos ka ng high school.”

“We will train you. At kapag natapos ka na ng high school, you can be a singer, a dancer, a performer pero kailangan mo munang mag-tapos ng high school,” the doting mom added.

MANILA, Philippines – Charice is performing at a special charity concert set for next week at the historic Warner Theater in Washington D.C. Special guest at the gala event is First Lady Michelle Obama.

Titled An Evening with Childhelp Featuring David Foster (who’s producing it), the concert is part of Childhelp’s 50th anniversary celebration. Childhelp is a charity organization committed to preventing and treating child abuse in the US and around the world.
