MANILA, Philippines - Christian Bautista successfully represents the Philippines with his own brand of music during the Annual Pattaya International Music Festival 2010 last March 19. “At first I was feeling a bit nervous backstage because aside from the huge crowd, the many TV media present, this was going to be my first live showcase in front of a Thai audience. When I came out and heard the crowd cheer, I actually saw many who sang along with my first song The Way You Look At Me. I was told a few years back that it charted in five radio stations in Bangkok dun na ako nag-enjoy at nag-relax,” Christian beams.
Christian also sang Tell Me Your Name from his Romance Revisited album soon to be released in Thailand. While singing, they aired his music video that featured Thai model actress superstar Paula Taylor. His third song was with a famous local Thai singer Panadda.
“I only found out today during rehearsals that it was Christian who sang The Way You Look At Me upon hearing this I got goose bumps and hugged him because I love that song even till now. My friends love it too. As a DJ, I would always play it. I am amazed to have gotten the chance to perform with Christian knowing he sang that song,” Panadda reveals.
The Pattaya International Music Festival this year invited top singers, musicians and even pop groups that are big in the region like Zhang Li Yin of China, Leprozy of Laos After School, f(x), Wheesung of Korea, Deep Ng of Hong Kong, Thomas Jack of Malaysia and Christian for the Philippines. Some of the most famous pop singing stars of Thailand also joined in the festival like Chin, Michael and Golf who are all under the biggest independent record label and entertainment conglomerate “Grammys” who also sponsored the entire event.
In a press conference, Pattaya’s Mayor Itthipol Khunpluem handed to Christian the key to the city of Pattaya as a gesture of honor and to officially welcome him.
