 It is vacation time! GMA 7’s Mel & Joey will visit tomorrow night the beautiful, historical and scenic spots of the Ilocos Region.
Joey de Leon with Mel Tiangco goes to Nabca Cave where countless bats dwell. Entering the cave is a tough act and townfolks say it was discovered from a dream. The cave is now one of the tourist attractions of the region. On Hanep Bahay, televiewers will be toured to a residence where vintage furniture and fixtures play significant roles to its owner. The pottery and foundry businesses of Ilocandia will be featured on Nego Sikat. |

GMA's I-Witness bags Unicef, Popdev awards |

 MANILA, Philippines – GMA Network's I-Witness won two awards recently – the 2008 ABU CASBAA Unicef Child Rights Awards and the 2008 Popdev Media Awards for Best TV Documentary.
Jay Taruc and his team bagged the Unicef award for their "Batang Kalabaw," which tells the story of 14-year-old Cherilyn who acts as sole breadwinner for her family and parent to her five siblings.
Cherily, along with her young friends, trek up and down the mountains of Agusan del Sur for more than six hours daily to carry logs weighing as much as 15 kilos.

 Palaban (Tough) is a news and public affairs program of GMA Network hosted by Winnie Monsod, former Miss Universe Runner-Up Miriam Quiambao and Malou Mangahas. The program replaced the award-winning Debate with Mare at Pare in which it aired for almost a decade.
