Jericho Rosales: 'I am the happiest man in the world.'

Jericho Rosales was obviously overflowing with happiness when he faced reporters during the taping of Pasko Na, Kapamilya! The ABS-CBN 55th Anniversary Christmas Special last December 16 at the Araneta Coliseum.The actor expressed his gratitude to everyone who made his 2008 a blast especially because of the success of his Philippine-Malaysia produced teleserye Kahit Isang Saglit.“I feel great because 2008, although mahirap in the beginning, it ended very well.I’m very thankful to ABS-CBN and all the supporters of Kahit Isang Saglit for making the teleserye a great success.I also had a movie which is Baler.Having all these things is very overwhelming for me.I’m already looking forward to 2009 which I know is magiging maganda.I’m doing a project with Kristine Hermosa.Also there’s a talk about a movie with Kristine and Carmen Soo.I’ll also be coming up with a new album.So far ‘yun ang mga plano.Para akong nasa cloud nine.”

Jericho suffered a setback in his career a couple of years ago when he chose to put aside acting to focus on his music.From then on he had a hard time getting back on his feet, but thanks to Kahit Isang Saglit, Jericho bounced back this 2008 and proved that he is still one of the best dramatic actors of his generation.“Sagad sagad ‘yung pasasalamat ko sa lahat ng fans kasi kahit matagal akong nawala, I stopped acting for a year, pagbalik ko nandiyan pa rin ‘yung support nila.I’m truly thankful na na-appreciate niyo ‘yung pagbalik ko sa Kahit Isang Saglit.In the teleserye I worked with great actors and directors and ibang klase ‘yung suportang nakuha ko sa kanila.Thank you very much, kahit Echo-Carmen o Echo-Tin, kahit sino pang partner ko o anuman ang ginagawa ko ang nakikita nila sa akin is ‘yung papaano ko gawin ‘yung trabaho ko.Masaya ako na ganun na, hindi tulad ng dati na may mag-aaway dito or what.I’m happy that they get to appreciate me as an actor, as a leading man, and as a singer.Noong pinagdaanan ko sa music nabu-boo ako pero ngayon ‘yung mga songs ko naghi-hit sa mga radio stations.Thank you, Lord!I just want to say that from the bottom of my heart, I am the happiest man in the world because of you.I going to show you guys better things next year dahil sa suportang ibinigay niyo sa akin.Asahan niyo po ‘yan.”

With all the blessings he received this year, Jericho said that he is very happy to finally have the peace of mind and optimism that he had long sought. “I’m very happy that ngayon sa buhay ko, kahit saan ako magpunta I’m at peace.Okay ako kahit sino ang kausap ko.Okay ako sa mga kaibigan ko, family, trabaho, sa lahat. I’m happy being single.I want to make more friends.I’m focused on that muna.I’m focused on my work, family, friends.Reconstruction stage ito para sa akin.Ngayon buo na uli ako.”
