The addition of cross-cultural teens, including a Fil-Irish-Spanish, Fil-Swede, Fil-Italian and Fil-German, was “part of a social experiment,” explains Dellosa. “We wanted to see how they would interact.” Dellosa, tasked to counsel evicted housemates, assesses the latest group. “No one can fully prepare for the pressures of living inside Kuya’s house. But some teens are resilient — they didn’t avoid problems but conquered and learned from them instead.” The show’s Final Five—Beauty Gonzalez, Robi Domingo, Nicole Uysiuseng, Alex Anselmuccio and Ejay Falcon—are very different personalities, he notes. He describes Dumaguete-born Beauty as “emotionally transparent”; Atenean Robi as “intelligent”; provincial lad Ejay as “obedient and hard-working”; Fil-Italian Alex Anselmuccio as “naughty but nice”; Fil-Chinese Nicole as “pretty and flirty.” The Big Winner is still anybody’s guess, Dellosa asserts. “PBB doesn’t prescribe specific standards or guidelines for [viewers in] choosing the big winner.” Results are determined solely by text votes. Finals night is set tomorrow at the Araneta Coliseum. As we go to press, yet another housemate, Alex Anselmuccio was eliminated, rounding up the show’s Final Four. Dellosa relates that the Final Four have reached a crucial stage of “fierce but subtle” competition. “They need to prove to viewers that they deserve to win; at the same time, they can’t be too obvious about it.” The kids know that strategy is key, he says, “but they also feel helpless because they don’t know which strategy can help them win.” Dellosa offers this advice: “In the end, the best strategy is to just be good and avoid making serious blunders.”
